Give every market recommendation a way to be tested
A recommendation without an owner, a validation signal and a review date is likely to remain a sentence in a report.

The report lands
The report was perfect. It just landed six months too late.
That happens more often than you might think.
The team knew something was not working in France or the UK, so they asked for help. They commissioned a market analysis and received a comprehensive view of the market, the competitors and the opportunity.
But the report landed on a desk.
It was not translated into the funnel, the sales conversations, the marketing or the way customer service spoke to buyers.
Why the recommendation stalls
Six months later, the company was still struggling with many of the same questions.
A report can tell you where the friction might be. It can recommend a segment, a position or a different way of presenting the value.
But someone still has to make those recommendations part of the business – and do it without losing what makes the company different.
Too many B2B companies enter a new market and end up sounding like every competitor already there.
Your product deserves more than that. Your team’s energy deserves more than that. The investment deserves more than that.
Give the recommendation a test
For every significant recommendation, ask four questions:
- Who owns it? Someone must be responsible for turning the recommendation into action.
- Where will it be tested? Choose the moment in the funnel where the assumption becomes visible to buyers.
- What response are you looking for? Decide what would support or challenge the recommendation.
- When will you review it? Do not wait until a missed revenue target forces the discussion.

The wider lesson
Local market work does not end when the report is delivered.
The real work starts when someone decides how the recommendation will be tested, where it will show up and what the business will do with the response.
Do not leave the report sitting on a desk.
