Coffee Moments
Client-side leadership experienceWhat it takes to build the first non-English-speaking market from the ground up.
France was Tradify’s first non-English-speaking market. Leslie was responsible for building the marketing environment required to launch and grow the SaaS platform in France.
The moment
Tradify’s France launch required the first non-English-speaking market to be built from the ground up, including product localisation, marketing infrastructure, partnerships and acquisition activity.
What was getting in the way
The work was not a consultancy engagement for French Coffee Marketing. It was client-side leadership experience inside the company, across product, marketing, content, partnerships and reporting.
Leslie’s role
Leslie developed and led the French GTM strategy and marketing plan while coordinating with product, QA, development, external specialists and local market partners.
Work completed
- Developed the French GTM strategy and marketing plan.
- Worked with product, QA and development to localise the platform.
- Created the French website and paid landing pages in under six weeks.
- Built and managed local partnerships.
- Adapted marketing automation to French requirements.
- Developed social channels across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Launched and managed a 17-person tradesperson ambassador programme.
- Launched Tradify Le Blog, reaching approximately 3,000 monthly visitors.
- Managed external SEO, content and video resources.
- Delivered reporting and analysis.
Strategic turning point
The market build required product, consent, content and acquisition to be adapted together, not treated as separate translation tasks.
Defensible outcomes
- Initiated in-app messaging for trialists who opted out of calls.
- Worked with product teams to adapt sign-up and consent journeys.
- Increased trial-to-sale conversion by 20%.
- Increased leads providing call consent by 50%.
Recommendation
“You should definitely be proud of what you achieved. It’s a huge step to enter a new market – even more so with a new language and culture. It was a pleasure working with you.”
